Situational Bubbles

Situational Bubbles
With this series, I attempted to capture the element of surprise in the insignificant moment that is a bubble’s life. Surprising a subject with an enormous bubble in an unexpected environment and documenting their reaction allows for an instant where the subject reverts to a childlike emotion and demeanor. Through this process, I have discovered that often bubbles are a test of how young at heart a person is. There is a surprising amount of emotion that can go into a simple bubble; the pride and awe in the creation of a gigantic bubble and sadness that follows the inadvertent and unavoidable burst. The inconsequential life span of a bubble goes unnoticed by most; a bubble is expected to burst quickly and without any effect on the world. My intention with these images is to transfer a form of significance onto the trivial effect of the life of a bubble.
