Bio

Jana Dukes received a BFA in photography at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA in 2010. She was born in North Carolina in 1985. At age five she moved overseas to China and has spent much of her time living between China and north Louisiana.  Her constant travels as a child left her in search of a stable home. It is this search that has led her to explore her late grandparents’ property in her current work, an installation entitled 100 Peterson Road.

Her recent experience as a studio assistant for a professional artist has led Jana to truly embrace living as an artist and not just an art student. She has been featured in exhibitions at Louisiana Tech University, the 2009 Society of Photographic Education South Central Regional Conference Student Show, and given honorable mention in the September 22nd Competition in the Alexandria Museum of Art.  Additionally she was published in the September 22nd Exhibition Catalogue.
